Happy birthday Barbara. Have a great day. This is also my granddaughter‘s 16th birthday today.
Bill and I lived in the same neighborhood off Liberty St. I just knew him to say hi and we never hung around but his passing is a loss to our Braintree childhood memories. Rest peacefully Bill.

Happy birthday June. Have a great day.
Happy birthday Pegge. Have a great day.
“We were children of the 1950s and John Kennedy's young stalwarts of the early 1960s. He told the world that Americans would "pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship" in the defense of freedom. We were the down payment on that costly contract, but the man who signed it was not there when we fulfilled his promise. John Kennedy waited for us on a hill in Arlington National Cemetery, and in time we came by the thousands to fill those slopes with out white marble markers and to ask on the murmur of the wind if that was truely the future he had envisioned for us.”
? Joseph L. Galloway
Gone but not forgotten - On this day in 1969 -
"Gerald the son of George Bradley and Lulu C. Bradley of Braintree MA enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on October 2 1967 in Boston MA. In Vietnam he was assigned to and served with Company E, 2d Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.
During the month of January the Battalion continued to conduct assigned combat operations in Quang Nam Province.
On January 15, Company E and H with a platoon of Vietnamese Popular Force’s began a cordon and search operation of the Cam Sa village complex 6 kilometers northeast of Dien Ban. As the units began their sweep they were hit with a heavy volume of enemy small arms fire from fortified positions, the advancing friendly units used supporting 81mm mortars and artillery to destroy bunkers and break thought the enemy defenses. Four Marines were killed and several were wounded in the action, one of the casualties was Cpl Bradley who was killed by hostile rifle fire.
* CPL Gerald G. Bradley presented with the SILVER STAR Medal with posthumously "For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action ....on 15 January 1969...."
